Book Review: Sew What! Skirts

Sew What! Skirts is my kind of book. It teaches exactly the way I like to learn - and teach. The authors teach techniques rather than just giving you projects. There are no set patterns in here. Instead, the authors teach you how to take your measurements, how to draft a pattern to fit those measurements, and how to vary that pattern to make it just the style you like. There are instructions for six basic skirt silhouettes, and then variations that add up to a total of 16 different styles. There are instructions for adding fancy trim, making your own bias tape, and more. It's a fabulous book with clear, easy-to-follow instructions and excellent illustrations.

One final note - the book is clearly designed for making clothing for adults, but the techniques and charts would work equally well for kids. This is a fabulous book good for sewists at any skill level.
