Queen of Hearts

$5.00

Just in time for some Valentine's Day stitching - meet the Queen of Hearts.

What you get:
  • Regular pattern
  • Reversed pattern
  • Complete color and stitch guide
Skills you need to make it exactly as you see here: (links take you to the free video tutorials)
  • backstitch
  • splitstitch
  • embroidering eyes
  • chainstitch Note - chainstitch doesn't really lend itself to tight curves. I wanted her squiggly curls to be kind of big and messy so I used it. If you want your curls to be smoother I recommend using the splitstitch for them instead.
Time you need:
  • a long evening, maybe two
What do you do with all this embroidery anyway? Here are just a few ideas:
  • I embroidered her on a child-sized T-shirt.
  • Sttich her on a square of fabric and make a pillow, a tote bag, or a quilt block.
  • Stitch her on a kitchen towel.
What do you think? Any other ideas how to use this pattern? Share them in the comments! Or, better yet, stitch it up and then show it off in the Shiny Happy Embroidery School Flickr group!

$5.00

Have fun and happy stitching!
