Little Chick with Big Feet - Embroidery Pattern

FREE

Back when I released the chickens embroidery pattern, you all said you liked the little egg-shaped chicks with big feet. I told you they'd be back again and here one is - sized a bit bigger - as a free download.

You can use applique to fill him with some Easter pattern, like I did, or you can fill him with your own dots and stripes, like my daughter did here.

This is a great way to do embroidery with even the littlest of kids. Draw the outline of the chick and give them some colored pencils and have them "decorate" it like an Easter egg. Then they or you (depending on ages) can stitch the outline and finish it up. (Watch this video to see this technique in action.) It's quick and easy enough to make up a whole cluster of them - every one different - to decorate for Easter. Or make a sweet gift for the grandparents. I'd love to see what you all do with the pattern! Share your finished projects here.

  5. Thanks! This was the perfect project to teach my kids how to embroider! My 13 year old daughter, 5.5 year old and 4 year old sons did all their own coloring and embroidering! My 2.5 year old daughter colored hers and Mama stitched. =] I added a photo to your Flickr group. Thanks again!
