For this pattern I used several of the new techniques we've been learning, including "filling" with applique and colored pencils. The caterpillar is also appliqued, and then stitched down with a bunch of seed stitches to make him shaggy and cute. He's pretty small though - you may have to click on the image to make it big enough to see the detail on him.
