Book Review: Stupid Sock Creatures

I LOVE this book! Sock monkeys and bunnies and other critters are great - but these monsters are SO MUCH FUN to make. The patterns are super easy with no actual measuring required. There are detailed instructions and lots of tips and tricks - but also a "wing-it" attitude that makes for some truly delightful characters.

John Murphy has a new book out - called Closet Monsters. In it he moves beyond cast-off socks for his materials and into the wider world of cast-off clothes. I haven't bought a copy yet - but it looks like a terrific follow-up.
