Show & Tell Time!

Lots of folks out there are making mini totes. Look at this beauty that Leslieshappyheart made! That simple embroidery looks so pretty on the linen fabric.

And look at this pair made by rep.marjan.

I'm always a sucker for a solid outside with a patterned lining.
Look at the bags that Canan (from Istanbul!) made for her boys! She used the mini tote pattern, but gave them long straps instead of two short straps. She also turned one into a messenger bag by adding a flap. Love those appliqued cars!

I love those embroidered circles!

And this elephant is super cute! I love the visible running stitches - that might be my favorite applique method.
Look how edyB1 combined the robot taking time to smell the the first flower of spring with patchwork in this mug rug! Am I the only one who sees gears in those circular patterns at the top?

And kidsinthestudio has been busy! Where does she get the energy? She made not one. . .

. . . but TWO Get to Work Aprons. Mom's was blogged here and daughter's was blogged here - with more photos. Take a look!
AND a zippered pouch!
Can you believe this is her first sewn-in zipper? I know - me either! But it is - she says so right here.

You guys are making terrific stuff! Keep on sewing - and please keep sharing! I love seeing what you make!

Best,
Wendi

  1. I keep meaning to comment on that adorable kitty bag, and there are more here that I hadn't seen before! Is it just incredibly cool to see your ideas go into the world and be interpreted in so many ways? Every single thing here is awesome, and they're all different.

  2. It IS incredibly cool! I try to design things that are open-ended enough to allow for lots of individual interpretation and I LOVE seeing how different everyone's finished projects are.
