I'm always a sucker for a solid outside with a patterned lining.
Look at
the bags that Canan (from Istanbul!) made for her boys! She used the mini tote pattern, but gave them long straps instead of two short straps. She also turned one into a messenger bag by adding a flap. Love those appliqued cars!

this elephant is super cute! I love the visible running stitches - that might be my favorite applique method.

I keep meaning to comment on that adorable kitty bag, and there are more here that I hadn't seen before! Is it just incredibly cool to see your ideas go into the world and be interpreted in so many ways? Every single thing here is awesome, and they're all different.
ReplyDeleteIt IS incredibly cool! I try to design things that are open-ended enough to allow for lots of individual interpretation and I LOVE seeing how different everyone's finished projects are.
