Fabric: Ed Emberley at Cloud 9

I'm a big fan of Cloud 9 Fabrics. They print on organic cotton with sustainable inks and they've partnered with some of my favorite artists - like Heather Moore. Well - today they announced a partnership with one of my very favorite artists of all time - ever. Ed Emberley. ED EMBERLEY!
ED EMBERLEY!
I'm still breathing hard from running around my (totally empty) house with flailing Muppet arms yelling WOO! HOO! (Note to self: exercise more.)

Maybe it's a little silly to be so excited about a fabric line - but it's Ed Emberley! I have nine books in my Favorite Drawing Books section of this site - every one of them by Ed Emberley.

I read the announcement five minutes ago and they don't even have sneak peeks or anything - but I'm already planning projects that will use this fabric. Must get out my sketchbook right now. . .

La la la la la la la la la. . . I'm so happy!

Have a great day everyone!

Best,
Wendi

  4. My son loves Ed Emberly as well and when he was very little he wrote Ed a letter. He very graciously wrote him back and included a drawing and a special halogram envelope. Fred is 24 and an aspiring artist.

  5. That's a great story! So many of my favorite artists were influenced by Ed Emberley. Do you know the work of Nate Wragg? He did a terrific Ed Emberley tribute piece last year. You can see it at http://n8wragg.blogspot.com/2010/07/ed-emberley-tribute.html.

  9. Thanks! It's always a little lonely (and maybe a tad silly) to do flailing Muppet arms all alone. :-)
