Free Witch Hat Pattern

Making a witch out of the Rag Doll pattern was super easy - and fun! I used the Lucy hair because I love her swirly highlights and thought they'd look great in green thread on black felt. I LOVE how they turned out!

I used green fabric for her skin, fancy embossed velvet for her body, and a sheer fabric with flocked black cats on it for her skirt (one of my daughter's favorite fabrics from my stash). Everything was straight-up following the regular pattern instructions - except that I added a hat. I made it out of felt so it would have enough stiffness for the point to stand up and the brim to not flop. That also means I had NO fussy finish work to do. Yay! Once I worked through the geometry of the pattern drafting it took exactly 5 minutes to actually make it.

Happy sewing!

Best,
Wendi

  3. Wendi - Thank you for sharing the hat. I've made a bunch of your dolls, including a Karl, and I have enjoyed them so much. I made one and embroidered eye glasses - so cute.
