It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

So - I've shown you the puppies and the kitties. Today I'm introducing the Christmas ornaments, the last batch of patterns designed to fit in the DIY Square Ornament Kits and Pendant Kits. Yes - pendants. They'd make pretty necklaces too!

These are so easy to stitch up. As in - you'll spend less than an hour on each of them. Way less. This one here is my favorite and it uses just two stitches. Two! Backstitch (the most basic outline stitch there is) and a tiny bit of lazy daisy. And those links? They go to videos showing you how to do those stitches. The links are in the pattern too - along with links to the other two stitches used - both really basic. I promise you can make these!
I think they look really pretty behind glass in these frames, but if you want a more homespun look you can frame them in 3 inch embroidery hoops (available at any craft store) and hang them on your tree like that. I neglected to take a picture (oops! sorry!) of one framed in a hoop, but this will give you an idea of the scale.
I like a lot of white space around my stitching, but if you want it to fill the hoop a bit more, just enlarge the pattern a little. Easy peasy!

Speaking of enlarging the pattern - that's always an option. Make it big enough to stitch on a T-shirt. Or stitch it on the front of a mini-tote like this one (free pattern here) for a lovely reusable gift bag.

Oooh! And here's another idea I just thought of! You can stitch these designs on the front of blank cards for some really beautiful Christmas cards. There's a tutorial here showing you how to stitch on paper.

I always feel good about buying embroidery patterns because I can use them on a million different projects. Five bucks for something I'll use again and again? Yes please!
So - the Christmas ornament pattern is in the shop now. And remember - you get a free pattern when you buy the ornament kit or the necklace kit - plus everything you need to make two pendants. What a deal!

Happy stitching!

Best,
Wendi
