Before I announce your choices for the square pendant/ornament designs, I wanted to drop in a quick note letting you know that the Skinny Ornament Kits are in the shop. These fit the skinny pendant designs (the ladies, geometrics, and flowers) and they include ribbon instead of the necklace parts so you can hang them on your tree. Now - on to the winners. And a little surprise!
The cats (in order from most votes to least): #1, #5, #6, #2, #3, and #4.
The dogs (in order from most votes to least): #1, #6, #2, #4, #3, and #5.
The baubles (in order from most votes to least): #6, #4, #2, #1, #5, and #3.
Thanks (again!) for your help in the final round of editing! This time the choices weren't as clear cut - in most cases the losers still had a lot of votes. A few of you asked why not include them all - and that's a great question. The way I design stuff is to do a LOT of designs and then start pulling out my favorites. Sometimes I end up loving my first sketch, but often I feel like my designs get better as I work through more variations. I like the process of editing. And after I finish winnowing things down to my favorites, I like turning the process over to you.
I wanted four designs for a simple reason - four will fit nicely onto the square format of my pattern covers. :-) And since I include two frames in the kits, the super final round of editing is back in your hands as you decide which two of the four you want to stitch up.
But (like I said) this time the favorites weren't as clear cut as with the skinny pendants. And several people chose a particular cat or dog because it looked like their pet - and I don't want to leave those guys out! So here's what I'm going to do. Each pattern set will include all six designs. But - I'll only put the top four on the cover, and only the ones on the cover will have a color and stitch guide. The other two will just be bonus patterns. Happy holidays!
I'll start working on stitching up samples this evening. I hope to have all three patterns and the pendant/ornament kits in the shop by the middle of next week. Happy stitching!
And the winner (chosen randomly from all commenters) was knititall! I'll be in touch after all the patterns are finished so you can choose a finished piece or a kit.
Thanks again everyone! You're awesome!
Best,
Wendi
Congratulations to knititall!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you Wendi for including all the patterns! I'm willing to bet that everyone voted for the kittehs and/or goggies that look like their own. I know I did!
