Thanksgiving Embroidery Pattern

I made this sampler a couple of years ago - and it hangs on the wall of my studio where I see it every day. I love the message. It's an important reminder for every day - but especially for Thanksgiving and the sometimes-crazy holiday season.

Now I've made a pattern. (I'm so glad I kept my notes about thread colors and # of strands used!) The stitching is easy. It's mostly split stitch with a bit of satin stitching and a few lazy daisies and French knots thrown in. My favorite part is the grassy hill - all seed stitched in two shades of green. It was so much fun to slowly get the stitching denser and denser - I kept wanting to pet it.

It'll take you some time to stitch - but sometimes that's exactly what you want out of a project. This one is great for working on a little bit each night - especially if you can do it in front of a crackling fire. I estimate it will take 1-2 weeks to finish if you work on it for an hour or two every night. Don't rush it! Take your time and enjoy the process and watching the design come to life.

The finished sampler is 7 inches square (you can, of course, size it up or down). The pattern is just $5 and you can find it in the shop now.

Happy stitching!

Best,
Wendi
