We visited New York City during the holidays and she found the many cupcake bakeries. . . inspiring. She decided she wants to open her own cupcake bakery someday and we've been working on developing and testing recipes. (Yum!)
I was talking to a friend of mine about it. She had a big party coming up and she decided to hire Jo to make some cupcakes. Eight dozen! So Jo and I had a busy baking weekend and the house smelled fabulous. :-)
Here are a few photos of my girl in action. . .
I guess I can't knock something off the list every weekend! :-)
What did you all do this weekend?
Best,
Wendi
Oh what yummy goodness! Will Jo reveal her trick for getting all the cupcakes to look and be the same? I usually have a few of all sizes even when I think I have measured all the same in to the baking cups!
ReplyDeleteI started my Valentine stitching for the EFU Swap and watched basketball & football and got to see my NYC living friends' baby boy for the first time!
Becky - She used an ice cream scoop (I have a few different sizes) to get equal portions.
DeleteVery, very, very professional, do you deliver to a-a-a- Pennsylvania???? Good luck on your future endeavors!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! You made Jo laugh about delivering to Pennsylvania. :-)
DeleteWell done!! Now I want cupcakes. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI have been sick. I finished up a couple of orders and started working on a new addition. Looking in to paypal and putting up a website.
Ugh. Sick AND doing paypal and website set-up. Sounds like a not-fun weekend. :-(
DeleteCould have been worse. The FB page is up and has been getting some hits and really working hard on my new addition so it's keeping my mind of how sick I really feel lol
Deleteso which shop was her favorite? Crumbs was my favorite until Sprinkles opened!!!
ReplyDeleteMolly's Cupcakes on Bleeker Street in the Village was definitely our favorite. Her creme brulee cupcake was AMAZING.
DeleteI should also have mentioned - Jo's favorite there was called something like the Ultimate Chocolate cupcake. Chocolate cake, chocolate mousse filling, chocolate ganache on top with curls of dark chocolate to garnish. Oh my.
DeleteWow, Jo's cupcakes look fabulous and delicious! I love the thick swirl of frosting :) She did a great job...and now I really want one! If only I could order one through the computer as easily as I order your patterns :) Yum.
ReplyDeleteGrandpa and I babysat our grandson, who didn't wake up even once!
I love the thick swirl of frosting too - especially cream cheese frosting. :-) And it's really easy to do if you use the right tip.
