Weekend Work

This is going to be a crazy busy week and I spent the weekend getting ready for it. I'm working on the next Safari Quilt block - a lion. Jo is a Leo and has quite an extensive collection of lions, so I was very pleased that she liked this guy.

Speaking of Jo - she needs some new clothes. Look at the fabric she picked out for a dress! Does that kid have style, or what? She also chose this fabric, designed by the always-awesome Helen Dardik.

I think I see a trend here - she's a fan of mid-century modern! Also - the first time Alan and I watched Madmen she came barreling down the stairs to find out "what that great music was" so it's not just the look. She likes the sound too. :-)

I also received my Backyard Baby fat quarters for a project I'm working on for Sew, Mama, Sew! later this month. It's a good one, but all I can share until April 27th is the fabric. :-)

I also recut and repieced some scrappy versions of blocks for my next Buttonholes quilt. When I tweaked the measurements for the final version of the quilt, it meant undoing a few scrappy blocks I had already made.

And finally - I can close the drawer that holds my blue scraps! Woo hoo! This is so huge! They were crammed in so tight I couldn't move the drawer at all, and I had started to pile blue scraps on the floor. Not good at all. Now I'm working on the red drawer. More scraps for my quilt. :-)

So - lots of prep work over the weekend so there can be lots of sewing this week. In my book - that's a good week ahead. I hope you all have a good one too.

Happy Monday!

Best,
Wendi
