Pattern - Silly Snake Applique

$5.00

There's a new pattern in the Safari Quilt block of the month series. Meet the Silly Snake. That pattern cover doesn't show the whole picture. Look what happens when I zoom out and show you the snake with the rest of the blocks we have so far.

She's a double-wide! Oh yeah! The blocks in the quilt were already big (I'm working on a grid of 16 inch squares) but now we're starting to go even bigger. How could I do a snake block and not get all that long, slithery shape in there? Plus it'll make the finished quilt more interesting to break out of the basic grid a couple of times. :-)

It's still easy to piece. In fact - this one is super easy! There's only one (ONE!) applique piece and it has nice gentle curves. Some of those curves are concave, so we're introducing a new skill with this block, but you can totally do it.

I was thinking Green Mamba when I designed her - but I hope I made her look friendly instead of venomous. :-)

Ready to make one? You can get the Silly Snake pattern here, or make the whole Safari Quilt and sign up to get a block pattern every month here.

Happy sewing! And have a great weekend!

Best,
Wendi
