New Pattern: Gentle Giraffe Applique
There's a new pattern in the shop - the newest in the Safari Block of the Month series. Meet the Gentle Giraffe! What you're seeing in the photo is only part of her. This is another double-sized block in the quilt. Here she is in all her tall glory. . .
Does that look like fun to make? It is! She only took a few hours - all those big spots stitched on in no time, and I used felt for the nose, the inner ear, and those knobby horns. You could use regular fabric for them too, but I wanted them to have a velvety texture. You can see all three textures in the block here. . .
Woven cotton, wool felt, and an embroidered eye.
Like all the other blocks in the Safari quilt, I designed this pattern especially for beginners. It uses an easy (and fast and durable!) machine applique technique that I love.
I need to design a new mock-up that includes the giraffe, but here you can see the other animals in the series so far. They're starting to look so cute together!
You can buy the Gentle Giraffe applique pattern here, or sign up for the whole Safari Block of the Month collection here and get a new pattern in your inbox every month for a year.
Happy quilting! Have a great weekend everybody!
Best,
Wendi
