Squaresville, Man! New Quilt Pattern

It's a new quilt pattern. Woo hoo!

Like Buttonholes, this one is designed especially for beginners (which makes it an easy and relaxing project for more experienced quilters). It's all straight line cutting and sewing with no seams to line up. Easy peasy.

Like all my patterns, there are links to videos showing you everything you need to know to complete the project, from using rotary cutting tools and sewing straight lines to layering, basting, quilting, and binding. I don't care if you just took your first sewing machine out of the box - you can totally make this quilt!

Oh - and I did all the math for you. Those of you who follow on Facebook listened to me whine about the math-in-progress. Sorry about that! But now it's done and it's all in the pattern and Nobody Else Ever Has To Do It Again. :-)

There are diagrams (front and back) and cutting instructions for four popular quilt sizes. None of this "Can easily be sized up or down" nonsense. Seriously - do you want to do math or do you want to make a quilt? I thought so. (Again with the math. Sorry!)

Click on over to the pattern description for even more details, including fabric requirements for each size. I used all fabrics from Ed Emberley's first fabric collection for Cloud 9. Maybe you want to use his super-cute new collection? Or maybe you want to use some of both? You can do that! The colors coordinate! It looks like Hawthorne Threads has most (if not all) of the fabrics from both collections.

I think this is a great pattern for showing off the fabrics in a collection, but I also give instructions for making a scrappy version of the quilt. And all the diagrams in the pattern are for a rainbow version - the stripey effect just cried out for it. Oh, this is a quilt you can have fun with! I think you could make it ten different times with ten completely different looks.

Here's a close-up of the front.

This one is made up in the napping size - perfect for picnics or curling up on the couch.

Ready to make your own? Purchase the Squaresville quilt pattern here. The new instant download feature went smoothly for the Robots embroidery pattern, so I'm rolling it out to everything else over the next week or so - starting with this pattern. That's right - immediately after your payment is received you'll get an email with the link to download the pattern. No more waiting for me to be at my computer - this is service at the speed of light!

Happy quilting! And have a great weekend!

Best,
Wendi
