SALE!

My family and I are crazy busy with last-minute preparations for our family geek vacation to Dragon*Con - so there won't be any posting here this week. We have four major costumes left to finish! We're all entering the masquerade and Jo is entering the junior category of the Costume Contest with a costume she sewed herself - Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas!

So - since I won't have any new lessons or patterns for you, I thought I'd have a little sale. Buy any two patterns, get a third pattern for free!

Here's how it works. . .
  1. Purchase any two patterns.
  2. When you check out there's a place for you to add a "message to seller." That's where you tell me what pattern you'd like for free. (The free pattern needs to be the same price or less than the ones you purchase.)
  3. I send you the links to download all three patterns. (Or more if you really want to go crazy. You get one free for every two you buy. Stock up for holiday sewing!)
That's it! I might be a little bit slower than usual to send you your links - but I expect to be able to get online at least once a day while I'm gone - so you should still get them in 24 hours or less.

Sale ends at midnight EST on Monday 9/5 (Labor Day!)

I'll be posting photos of fabulous costumes while I'm at the con. If you want to see them, make sure you're following me on Twitter, a fan on Facebook, or have me in your circles on Google+. Those are the three places I'll be posting photos.

Happy stitching everyone!

Best,
Wendi

    Hi Wendy!
I have been having fun learning to embroider from your tutorials and even tried a little sewing on the sewing machine. Will post pics next. I do have a question:
How do you keep your thread color from running when you wash. I think I remember someone saying to soak it in vinegar mixture but I am not sure and don't want to ruin my creations
Thanks again for the awesome blog!

  3. Geri - I actually don't do anything to keep embroidery thread from running in the wash. I know I should (and I've heard about the vinegar trick you mentioned) but I've never actually done it. I just wash everything in cold and hope for the best - and I've never had any of them run. *knocking on wood*
