A New Year - A New Sewing Room

Yesterday I posted a video showing how to recover your old ironing board. That was the last in a series of patterns and tutorials for all kinds of gear for your sewing room, and I thought I'd do a quick wrap up here of all of them.

All the fabrics are from the Ed Emberley Happy Drawing fabric collection from Cloud9 Fabrics. Since I made most of these there's been a Happy Drawing Too collection added - and all the colors between the two collections coordinate. Nice! Just search for "Emberley" and "fabric" and you'll find lots of online shops that sell it.

Make these handy pattern weights using fabric scraps and aquarium gravel. Yes - aquarium gravel.

Whip up some breezy curtains using this easy tutorial.

You need a needle cushion. Never heard of a needle cushion? Trust me - you need one. Luckily, they're really easy to make - the tutorial is here.

Naturally, you need a pincushion too. This is my favorite style - the pattern is here.

And finally - keep your sewing machine decently clothed with this easy reversible cover. :-)

All of these patterns are free, so jump right in! Add some spiffy new items to your sewing space and enjoy your time in there.

Happy sewing!

Best,
Wendi
