Look what Cheryl (the one who brought us the Spock/Bailey Bear) made with the Dimples pincushion pattern!
When I was working on the pattern we chatted about a name for it over on Facebook. Someone mentioned that it looked like a eyeball and Cheryl totally ran with the idea. Here's what she says. . .
I back stitched the lines in the eyes. The brown is hand stitched felt.
I was in a silly mood today. =) Thanks for endless inspiration! =)
I'm showing this to the kids at Sewing Camp today. Awesome! And eeeeewwwww. :-)
Want to make your own pincushion - eyeball version or otherwise? The pattern is free and you can find it here.
Happy sewing!

That rocks! So cute and funny and practical.
ReplyDeleteIt just makes me shiver to think I should stick a needle in an eyeball shaped pin cushion!
ReplyDeleteTee hee. It was actually a silly brain storming session in the comments, after the pattern was published, that spawned the eyeball idea. lol. It just tickled my macabre funny bone. And I know this is going to sound insane but I love how it feels when I put the pins in it. I mean not because it's an eyeball lol, but there is something about the muslin I used, and the stuffing...it seriously ended up strangely excellent from a strictly tactile perspective. lol. Yes...I know...there is likely something VERY wrong with me lol.
ReplyDeleteYou totally crack me up. :-)
