The Dragon*Con Report

We're back - and I'm sick - so even though I've got a ton of news, new patterns, new Show & Tells and more that I'm eager to share with you, I'm going to be easing back into things for the next couple of days.

A ton of you have emailed me asking about Dragon*Con and Totoro, so here's the quick report. . .

There's Totoro, all finished and wedged into the van we had to rent for the drive down. Crazy.

Here he is, fully assembled, backstage after winning Best Animated Character.

That's Jo as Satsuki, and Grant Imahara - the Emcee of the Masquerade Contest. Totoro is. . . um. . . a little tall. Taller than the backdrop and almost hitting one of the lights.

But Totoro wasn't the only costume we brought. Jo always enters the Youth category of the costume contest - that's for costumes made by kids. This year she was Steve from Minecraft. Here she is at the judges' table, answering questions about the construction of her costume.

And here she is on stage. Sorry, it's pretty blurry.

And here she is with the other winners.

She won Best Youth and Fan Favorite - so she was pretty excited. :-)

And here are just a few photos of some of my other favorite costumes from the weekend.

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! I'll be back tomorrow with some BIG news.

Happy Tuesday!

Best,
Wendi
