Bailey is a great bear for any age. There are no buttons or other small parts that would be a choking hazard for a baby - and you can make it up in funky fabrics and patterns for older kids. I usually choose a fabric with texture for the tummy patch - corduroy, chenille, velvet, flannel, etc. No special reason - I just think it's fun.
What you get:
- Full-sized pattern
- Complete instructions with step-by-step photos
- 1/3 yd. of the main fabric
- scraps of fabric for the tummy and the linings of the ears
- scrap of felt for the nose
- stuffing material
- sewing machine,
- needle, thread and other basic sewing tools
- How to lay out and cut a pattern
- How to transfer embroidery markings
- Backstitch
- Running stitch
- Embroidering eyes
- Embedding things in a seam
- How to stitch and clip curves
- How to stuff
- How to close up the stuffing opening - whipstitch or ladder stitch
- How to use an iron
- 4-5 hours
