Here's the next installment in The Shirt Off Daddy's Back Pattern of the Month series. It's one a lot of you have been patiently waiting for - the Fitted A-Line Skirt Pattern. Yay!
Why yay? Well, A-line skirts look good on everyone, including curvy grown-up women. In this PDF (with companion video) I teach you how to draft a pattern to fit your body. Then you can use that pattern to make a whole wardrobe of skirts out of all kinds of fabrics. You'll just need to use this tutorial to add a zipper to one of the side seams - no biggie.
But zippers scare you? No problem. I take the pattern one step further and show you how to use it to make a skirt out of a men's button-down shirt. You'll reuse the button opening to get in and out of your perfectly-fitted skirt - no zipper needed.
So - do you want a skirt like that one my daughter's wearing in the photo? Can you. . .
- measure your waist and hips? (Or, better, get a friend to do it for you.)
- connect two dots?
- sew two side seams? (They'll be straight lines or very gentle curves.)
- make and sew on bias tape? (You can even skip the making part and use purchased bias tape if you want.)
Purchase the pattern here.
You'll get a printable PDF with all the instructions plus loads of step by step photos, plus access to a top-secret companion video taking you through every step of the process.
And remember, this is part of the Shirt Off Daddy's Back series. If you're already signed up - don't purchase this pattern separately. :-) It'll come in your fourth email. If you're not signed up and want to get a new pattern every month for the next twelve months - you can get in on that deal here.
Happy sewing everyone! And have a lovely holiday weekend!
Oooh - I almost forgot. Speaking of holidays. . . today's my birthday! :-) I've been on a serious embroidery binge lately, so I'm having a sale on all embroidery patterns. Spend $15 on anything in the shop, use coupon code FROSTING (it's all about the frosting, baby!) and get 30% off all embroidery patterns in your cart. Sale ends at midnight EST on Monday 4/9.
Best,
Wendi
